About Gardening at MCG.... We are a non-profit organization managed by volunteer gardeners. Our steady growth over the past 8 years enabled MCG to build a shed, bring water in from a city main to outlets in the garden and develop common gardens which include fruit trees, rhubarb, raspberries and asparagus. The 2 acre garden is subdivided into plots of 25'x20' or 500 square feet. Half plots are popular for people new to gardening. The main garden is tilled in the spring then plots are staked and numbered before opening day during the first week of May. A full plot rents for $30 and half plot $15. What is included in rent? 1. Water - 10 spigots along the main lane with sufficient hose to reach gardens 2. A six foot fence around the perimeter of the garden 3. A variety of tools kept in the shed 4. Access to the common gardens 5. Member of MCG and voice in management with one vote per application. Please read the Rules found in the application packet. We garden using organic methods. Information will be available on OMRI rated organic products at garden meetings and posted in the shed. Applications for 2018 no longer accepted.
